Migrations - Welsh National Opera - Choreography by Melody Squire
March 2020

 

Through six stories, by writers from diverse backgrounds, Welsh National Opera explores migrations. Will Todd's new opera Migrations will now open the Autumn Season in 2021 as part of the WNO's 75th anniversary year. An expanded WNO Orchesta is joined by a cast of 100 performers, including a gospel choir, Bollywood dancers, and a children's chorus. Directed by David Pountney and choreographed/associate directed by Melody Squire, the opera will be performed in Cardiff at the Wales Millennium Centre as well as Plymouth, Bristol, Birmingham, Llandudno, and Southampton.

Hey Girls announces the launch of its TV advertising campaign this month, Do It In Your Pants

Campaign, directed and choreographed by Melody Squire. Hey Girls is a Scottish based social enterprise on a mission to end period poverty in the UK.  Selling 100% organic, plastic free and sustainable period products on a Buy One Give One basis – with every sale match donated back to communities who need them most. Hey Girls has donated over 10 million period products to people in need across the UK.

Best Dance Group - Prague - Talent Judge Melody Squire
May 2019

 

Melody judged the European tour EUROPA 2 BEST DANCE GROUP 2019. The best dance teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, and Poland will compete to decide the absolute winner – EUROPEAN BEST DANCE GROUP OF THE YEAR 2019.

Nubride Wedding Show - Choreography by Melody Squire

UK’s first wedding show dedicated to diversity, produced by Nova Reid, is immersive, inclusive and interactive. Featuring choreography and movement direction by Melody Squire and performances by Sol Dans Company.

Tiger Bay the Musical - Choreography by Melody Squire
November 2017

Wales Millennium Centre musical in co-production with Cape Town Opera, features a cast of 40 including John Owen Jones, Noel Sullivan, Vikki Bebb and Dom Hartley-Harris. Directed by Tony nominated Melly Still, choreographed by Melody Squire, music by Daf James and musical direction by David Mahoney. Highlighting and celebrating diversity, Tiger Bay consisted of 30 musical numbers featuring dance styles including: contemporary, Irish, African, ballroom, ballet and physical theatre. 

 

 

Sol Dans Performs at Spotlight Seven Dials
August 2014

 

Sol Dans Company performed at the annual Spotlight Seven Dials event which celebrates all the culture in the area. For the first time ever a stage was set up around the Dial to host live entertainment such as theatre, dance, comedy and music during the street party.  Sol Dans represented Pineapple Dance Studios at the event perfoming a contemporary routine.

Dance Photography Workshop at Tedworth

July 2014

 

Help for Heroes Recovery Centre, Tedworth House yesterday hosted a phenomenal opportunity for a group of Band of Brothers – many of whom were new faces – to experience a photography workshop like no other! In the beautiful grounds of Tedworth House, dancers from Sol Dans Company provided moving subjects for the budding photographers to practice capturing motion through the lens, under the tutorage of Dance Photographer, Jim Markland. American choreographer Melody Squire creates visually stimulating, physically challenging, and expressive movement for her company Sol Dans Company. She regularly teaches at Pineapple Dance Studios and recently choreographed the opening for the UK Music Video Awards.
